Day One Hundred and Twenty One - Super Coder

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Super coder I am not (more like a mediocre code editor). However while sifting through the wall of shirts at Value Village in Highlandtown I came across this shirt and immediately thought about my good friend Dustin Pfeifer. He is indeed a Super Coder. He has CSS dripping from his fingers, and his brain is consumed with xhtml and php on a daily basis. Throw in a healthy dosage of some serious ecommerce experience and you have super coder himself Dustin Pfeifer.

Dustin and I work on almost every web project together, and trust me I’m ok with being the designer. Yes I can maintain code if I have to, and make changes here and there, but I’d rather leave the nitty gritty up to him. Don’t be mistaken, I am not Super Coder’s sidekick. Promoter yes, collaborator yes, sidekick, no. Super Coder walks the earth alone, just him and his love for standards compliant websites.

Day One Hundred and Twenty - Bob Barker

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Today After 100 years of hosting “The Price is Right,” Bob Barker turns over his throne to Drew Carey. So Bob, Today’s shirt is for you. Let’s Spay and Neuter those pets one last time. Will Drew Carey have a different agenda? Or is it the Price is Right agenda to Spay and Neuter? Something to think about…Stay tuned for another sweet dedication shirt tomorrow…

Day One Hundred and Nineteen - Sharks

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Another Shark shirt? You betcha. I picked up this Mighty Sharks shirt at Value Village (Highlandtown) the other day, and thought it was a great lazy Sunday shirt. Not much of a back story on this one. Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Day One Hundred and Eighteen -City Sports Strikes Back

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Another City Sports purchase! I couldn’t be happier with this long sleeve navy blue City Sports shirt, printed on a Brooks Equilibrium Running shirt. I’ve been looking specifically for a navy long sleeve shirt that can keep me warm, and that was super comfortable. This is definitely that shirt. I must say I haven’t made one bad purchase at CS yet. Be sure to check it out!

Day One Hundred and Seventeen - Bad Combination

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Actually, how about the worst combination. For starters, I really don’t drink that much anymore. I think there were multiple reasons for toning down my drinking, my delicate stomach, not acting like a baboon…shall I go on. Well I partook in a couple beers last night, along with a Royal Farms cheeseburger and topped it all of with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream. Not a winning combination. So please learn from my mistakes and refrain from consuming all of those items in one sitting. On their own, I’m sure they are all fine.

Anyway, I’m sure many of you think today’s shirt is lame because it isn’t some radical street wear brand, or some off the wall design. I’m wearing this old Pitch Hit and Run shirt because, well I will be hitting and running tonight at our Softball playoff game, and it’s got a nice little story.

Pitch Hit and Run was a MLB sponsored competition for kids that came through town in the summer. One year I decided to enter it. I think I was in the oldest age bracket (13) and just wanted to have the chance to advance to the third round so I could play on the field at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. I mean what kid didn’t want to be a Major Leaguer. Sure I was into art, and skateboarding, but I was still like every normal kid in Baltimore and wanted to be the next Cal Ripken.

I made it to that third round and got to hit on the field at Camden Yards. I never really thought I was that good, but I made it just because I wanted it so bad. I finished second overall in my age group in the state, and never made it past that night at the Yard, but I didn’t care. For one night, as a 13-year-old my dreams came true. I did it all while wearing this shirt.

I’m glad I still have it because it’s a reminder that working hard pays off. I feel like now, more than ever I find myself working all day long at my day job, then I come home and work on my own projects. Yes I get tired, yes it takes a toll on me, but I feel like If I work hard, I’ll get better at what I do and make something out of myself. Blah Blah Blah. I guess I could go on but I’ll stop. I feel good about life right now, and I’m glad I have shirts like this that can remind me little highlights of my life.
