Day One Hundred and Eleven - Straight Outta the UK

Nothing like a little thrift store shopping and Bed Bath and Beyond to start your Saturday morning. Just to let everyone know my positioning on BB&B… I can’t stand the store. It lacks focus, good merchandising, and well good prices and products. Target blows them out the water. They carry everything you need, and even throw some good design into the mix.

Now that’s settled, on to today’s shirt! This shirt is made by The Affair, a UK based label. I was turned on to this label through the blog Boredom is your fault. This very blog was featured on this BIYF, and after an email exchange with BIYF and the Affair founder Zoltan I received this shirt via Royal Mail. BTW, getting Royal Mail is ten times more exciting then regular USPS mail. Anyway, Zoltan is a great guy, and I can’t thank him enough for his generous contribution to this project.

The label it self is a definite winner. Although they only have two shirts for sale right now, their impressive flash site and detail, not only in the shirts, but also in product descriptions puts them a step ahead of most other labels. This “MiniLuv” shirt, a reference to George Orwell’s 1984, has what looks to be hand sewn affair tags on the sleeve, and a nice description/screened in tag on the inside of the shirt. Also the printing quality is spot on. I’d much rather wear a shirt that doesn’t have a ton of ink on the front of it.
